Blessing Celebration Day 2017 (2)

WOW!
What an amazing Blessing Celebration day!

This afternoon, I headed out to find a cup of coffee. Gourmet Goodies, YUM! has new coffee, so I decided to stop in there. And I learned that I had enough Belly Rewards for a free cup of coffee! AWESOME! (Yes, I did get some brownies too. They are my weakness.)

After I got back in The Chariot, I was deciding what to do. I decided to drive around. I ended up stopping at Country Primitives Vintage Market. I walked past one area where they were unloading new products, I walked past and enjoyed seeing the rest of the store. As I was heading back to the entrance, I felt that I should go back and revisit that first area. I found some soups that looked good. But then the HOT sauces caught my attention. YUM!

I asked a lady ("J") working if she had ever tried any. We got to talking and come to learn her daughter ("K") is having another back surgery. We spoke for a few minutes and I gave her one of my Blessings Celebration Day cards. Love those "God-designed appointments"! (Please pray for "J" and "K".)

"Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, and shall sing of Your righteousness."
Psalm 145:6, 7

Love bragging about my awesome God!

PS. My hot sauce is made by a Christian company! Proverbs 3:5-6 is on the label. "Suckle Busters". The Chipotle Pepper Sauce is really good... and hot!

Blessing Celebration Day 2017

I will extol You, my God, O King; and I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts. I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works. Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, and shall sing of Your righteousness.

Psalm 145:1-7

Utter the memory: gush out, abundantly, bubble forth with

Seventeen years ago, I coughed. Little did I know that cough would set off a chain of events that would literally change my life. BUT GOD knew. He had a specific plan.
Seventeen years. That's a LONG time to live in pain. BUT GOD has been faithful in caring for me!
Seventeen years. Looking back I could focus on all the things that went wrong with treatments, the disappointments, the frustrations, oh and there is the pain — BUT GOD has never left me nor has He forsaken me. Rather He has blessed me ABUNDANTLY! WOW, has HE!!!

Seventeen years. Today is my BLESSING CELEBRATION day! The day that I take time to UTTER THE MEMORY OF GOD'S GREAT GOODNESS!
Please join me in praising God today and let's talk about God's great goodness!
I'd love to hear some of God's blessings in your life! Please comment and let's DECLARE GOD'S GREATNESS today!

Thanks Living: At a Loss for Words

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15

Indescribable: to describe and commemorate which words fail
Gift: focusing on "the free nature of the gift"

At a loss for words.

How does one give thanks for a gift that is beyond description?
Do I even grasp or understand the value that gift?

He then recites the advantages of giving. The first of these is that giving will fill the wants of the saints. That in itself is good, but the outcome is even better. Through such ministry gifts will cause glory to God.
And yet again, they will bring the intercession of those they have helped, a harvest of precious value. The final word concerning this whole subject is an expression of thanks to God for His unspeakable gift, for the apostle knows that the remembrance of it will do more than all his argument to stimulate the generosity of those who have received the inestimable blessing
G. Campbell Morgan's Exposition on the Whole Bible
“Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift;” i. e., His own Son to come down, suffer and die to redeem us all from sin, death and Hell; in consideration of which momentous reality how glad should we be to cast in our little mite and bear some humble part in the glorious enterprise for which God gave His only Son to die. This is the climax of all incentives to Christian liberality. William Godbey's Commentary on the New Testament

Thanks Living: God's Perfect Timing

Thanks Living.

I was just thinking back over the past few weeks about some of the blessings and I saw, once again, the truth about God's perfect timing.

Back up several weeks ago, when I had the gate and fence replaced. What was to be a team effort, ended up with me paying for the entire job. That change of plans, delayed me in the next project which was buying screens for the lanai doors.

Then I received a notice that it was time for my yearly termite inspection. Since the year wasn't actually up until April, 18, I figured it could wait a few more weeks. When I called to schedule the appointment, they said there was one available on March 25th. Ok, that would work, even though I was thinking in another week or two.

This past week turned into a busy one for me, and a few times I started to call to reschedule the inspection, but each time, God interrupted me.

On Friday, the BugMan told me that I had some things in my attic—Surprise to me! And among those things were screen doors.
On Easter Sunday, a friend and my brother, GRACIOUSLY got the screens out of the attic and worked VERY HARD to get them back in working shape and installed.

I love how God made sure that I did not buy new screens, and the He let me know that screens were there, and even provided the help to install them. God's timing is perfect.

Thanks Living. Thanking God for the blessing of His perfect timing, and the willingness of friends and family who go above and beyond to help me.
God continues to take care of His Castle!

Proverbs 12:8 Celebration or Contempt

A man will be commended according to his wisdom, but he who is of a perverse heart will be despised. Proverbs 12:8

Commended: to shine, celebrate
According to: in such proportion
Wisdom: insight, understanding

Perverse: one perverted of mind, commit iniquity, do wickedly, do wrong
Heart: inner man, desire, motive, thoughts, will
Despised: contempt, shamed, disrespect

It will happen—the question is which will it be—Celebration or Contempt?

The media often shows the faces of those who commit crimes. Sometimes to help locate the individual, other times to shame them, and other times just because it's news. A local Law Enforcement agency posts a "Wall of Shame" each month of those caught shop lifting. Often I wonder to those people care that they are now known for their perverse action? Do they care about the embarrassment they are to their family? Do they even realize the contempt they've brought to themselves?

Commended according to his wisdom.
I'd rather that a picture of me would be cause to celebrate and bring blessing to others. And more importantly, that I'd be a blessing to God as He watches what I do.

If I want to be cause for celebration, then my heart must be permeated with a deep sense of reverence for God (Acts 9:31 MSG). The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. And the more I respect and fear God, the more my heart will want to learn wisdom, and then allow wisdom to impact my heart and life.

Celebration or Contempt. Which does your picture inspire?

Patsy Clairmont posted this quote the other day: "When I think of certain people everything in me smiles. I want to be that kind of person for others, don't you?"

That sums up Proverbs 12:8 pretty well.

Proverbs 10:22: Getting!

The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it. Proverbs 10:22

Makes one rich: to accumulate; chiefly (specifically) to grow (causatively, make) rich
Sorrow: pain, hurt

Rich. Money. Things. Accumulation. Getting.
It's amazing how quickly our eyes focus on that word, "rich". Oh, if we only had more money, our lives would be so much better. Really? How much is enough?

What does it mean to be "rich"? Who sets the standards for how much is enough? Does being rich only involve money and things? Do money and things really bring happiness and joy?

When we focus on "getting", rather than God, we never seem to have enough and when we lose what we gained, we become discouraged and suffer loss.
Yes, we are to work and strive—but not to the point where the "getting" outweighs God and doing what God wants. For when we are acting in accordance with God's will, He blesses us abundantly. And that doesn't mean that we will be rich by man's standards. Rather, we will have peace and contentment in God.

Whatever we receive in the way of providence, has God's blessing in it, and will do us good. Cares, troubles, and difficulties come with all property not acquired in this way; but God's blessing gives simple enjoyment, and levies no tax upon the comfort.
Adam Clarke Commentary

On what do I focus? The getting or the Giver? When my heart is permeated with a deep sense of reverence for God (Acts 9:31 MSG), then my focus will be on God and obeying His wisdom.

Proverbs 3:5b: Support Yourself

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;  Proverbs 3:5

Heart: the inner man, indefinite, soul, comprehending mind, affections and will
Lean: support oneself
Not: to express with emphasis its negation
Own understanding: faculties, one of the powers of the mind, as memory, reason, or speech.

Yesterday, we looked at the word Trust. Now that we know that God is trustworthy, let's look at the extent to which we are to trust and what other words of wisdom are found in these verses.

Trust the Lord with all your heart. With all, entirety, your mind, affections, and will. It's one thing to say or think of trusting, it's another to set aside your will and trust in what God is doing!

Don't try to support yourself on what you remember or think you know. "But I do know what's best!" Oh, really? I have to think back to this past Summer, when God was directing me as I was looking for a place to buy.

One home which we put an offer on, seemed "perfect" in my mind. It had wood floors, access to a pool, nice location, and the right price. Yes, it only had 2 bedrooms, BUT in my reasoning and understanding it was "perfect".

God knew that He had something far better in mind. But at that moment, I could only see "this house and pool" and couldn't imaging anything better. Thankfully, God slammed that door shut keeping me from buying that home. For in his Wisdom, He was working on something far better. I had to learn to TRUST God and rely on God's Wisdom, not my own.

Do not support myself on what I think I know or can reason. It may come as a great surprise, but I do not know it all! That seems unbelievable... right? Of course I do not know it all.... but sadly, too often I act like I do.

Trust God. Do even try to support yourself. God in His Wisdom will teach and instruct and guide you...... but you need to Trust and rely on Him. Trusting Him begins with having a heart that is permeated with a deep sense of reverence for God (Acts 9:31 MSG). For when one respects God, one can fully trust God.

Max-A-Million • 2.18.2002-8.28.2015

Max died this morning from a heart attack. He was 13 1/2 years old.

Max was a very special blessing from God. Thankful for the 12 1/2 years I had with this little guy. I know that I'll be looking for him each time I walk into the room. I'll miss his "happppeeee burpy" and "pretty bird" and his "achoos", "Bur-choos" and all his sounds and kisses.

I'm very thankful for the many years I was able to enjoy this special blessing from God.

Trust: Fact. Question.

As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried. He is a Shield to all those who trust and take refuge in Him. 2 Samuel 22:31 (AMP)

When looking to put your trust in someone what are the qualifications?
1. Who are they?
2. What is their track record?

Looking at 2 Samuel 22, we learn first of all that God is GOD! That alone makes Him trustworthy. Secondly, we learn that God's word has been tested, and proven true. That makes Him trustworthy. And because He is trustworthy—He can be trusted! And when trust is placed in God, there is safety and assurance that God is in control and working things out for His glory and honor.

Fact: God is trustworthy.
Question: I'm I willing to trust God that His way is REALLY perfect?

It's easy to say "I trust You, God." It's another thing to actually put my agenda aside and trust that God, indeed knows what is best.

Looking back over the past 6 months, I had some great lessons in trusting God, as I looked for a home. If I had given up on God's direction and chose a home on my own, I would not have ended up at the Castle. Each home we looked at, seemed at that moment in time to be the BEST. However, as God worked in my heart and continued to teach me and lead me, and I was willing to TRUST Him, God then led me to the VERY BEST—HIS BEST. Each day, I continue to thank God for the King of king's Castle. He has supplied a home that is perfect for my needs. I'm very grateful.

So, does that mean that since I'm now living in the Castle, that I stop trusting God? I can now "do it on my own"? The answer of course is, "no". However, I have to continue to learn to trust God, and not try to do it on my own.

God is trustworthy simply because He is GOD! And He has proven Himself trustworthy. I only have to trust Him. And trusting God is easier when my heart is permeated with a deep sense of reverence for God (Acts 9:31 MSG).

God blesses. I am to bless.

After a day of hard work, Ruth returned home to Namoi and shared all that had happened. I love Naomi's responses. First, she blessed the man who noticed Ruth, and was kind to her. Then she said,  "Blessed be he of the Lord who has not ceased his kindness." Then she asked where Ruth had gleaned.

I wonder the look of astonishment on Naomi's face. Boaz, the nearest kinsman, who rightfully was to care for Naomi and her family. Out of all the fields, Ruth could have ended up in—she was in one that belonged to Boaz. That was not by luck, rather it was purely designed by God.

As I look back over my life, I am so thankful for God's leading and direction. He made sure that I was in the "right place" at the "right time". I'm so thankful for the people He introduced me to, that have blessed me along the way. And I'm so thankful that those people acted in accordance with God's will.

I have been blessed by God, by people who have been wiling to be blessings.
It makes me stop and think:
• Am I willing to be used by God to bless others?
• Am I acting on those promptings from God, when He wants me to help or encourage someone?
• Am I first of all thanking God for His goodness, and then thanking those who are sharing God's blessing with me?

God blesses. We in turn are to bless others. We are to be thankful to God, for His blessings. We are to be thankful to those who bless us.

When my heart is permeated with a deep sense of reverence for God (Acts 9:31 MSG), I will be ready to accept God's blessings, and in turn I'll be ready to share those blessings with others. My prayer is that I'll be a blessing and encouragement and that I'll never take for granted the blessings God has given me.

Words. Actions. Beyond Measure.

Words. Actions. Beyond measure.

Boaz spoke kindly to Ruth. Then he went further and put that kindness into action. Then even went further than expected and blessed Ruth.

Words. Actions. Beyond measure.

Ruth responded with humility and thanksgiving. She continued to work hard. She accepted the blessings that she was given, and "paid it forward" by sharing with Naomi.

Words.
Words can encourage or cause discouragement. Words can convey kindness. But often if we stop at just words, and don't add actions, our words can be meaningless.

Actions.
Actions should be an extension of our words. If we say we will do something—do it. Actions continue to convey the meaning of our words.

Beyond measure.
Word and actions shouldn't stop short of sharing God's love. It's not just the "least we can do", rather it's "all out"! Beyond measure, that extra step, that unexpected blessing.

Boaz didn't just speak kindly to Ruth, he also shared his food with her. And notice what Ruth did—she ate until she was full and kept the extra so Naomi would have food to eat as well. Ruth was not caught up in the treatment she was receiving. She was not selfish, as she continued to remember and want to care for Naomi.

Boaz didn't just tell Ruth to glean in his fields, he made sure that she'd be able to gather more than enough grain. He told his workers to leave extra laying around so that she would be sure to have more than she needs. Ruth didn't just stand around and expect to be handed the grain, rather she continue to work in the fields. At the end of the day, when she was tired, she continue to work to "beat out the grain". Her actions continue to display solid work ethic.

Due to the kindness of Boaz and his willingness to go 'beyond', Ruth not only had food to eat, and extra for Naomi, she also had a profitable day gleaning—enough for about 5 days worth of food! That was a huge amount considering she was gleaning behind the workers. But because Boaz went "beyond", Ruth ended up with "beyond" what she needed for the day.

Words. Actions. Beyond Measure.
When my heart is permeated with a deeps sense of reverence for God (Acts 9:31 MSG), not only will my words be kind and truthful, my words will be put into action, and I'll be willing to go "beyond" to encourage and show God's love to others.

Castle Painted

The King of king's Castle looks AMAZING,
thanks to an awesome painter!

Thanking God for sending this painter to His Castle. The painter did a superior job.
This was another blessing that God added to the list, as He takes care of His Castle.

______________________________________________

This post is the continuation of my Study of Colossians.
Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts.  Colossians 3:16 (AMP)
The Word of God dwell in you:
  • as an inhabitant that takes up its residence and abode, never more to depart;
  • and intends not only a frequent reading, and hearing of, and meditating upon the word of God but continuance in the doctrines of the Gospel,
  • with a steady faith in them, and a hearty affection for them; for such an inhabitation imports a very exact knowledge of the Gospel, and familiarity with it, and affectionate respect for it;
  • as persons that dwell in a house, they are well known by those of the family, they are familiarly conversed with, and are treated with love and respect by them:
  • and so the word of Christ, when it has a fixed and established abode in a man's heart, he has an inward, spiritual, experimental knowledge of it; he is continually conversant with it; this word of Christ is his delight, his acquaintance, with whom he takes sweet counsel together, and esteems it above the most valuable things in the world, and receives and retains it as the word of God.
  • The manner in which the apostle would have it dwell is.
John Gill's Exposition of the Bible
Dwell: inhabit, occupy, exist, be found in, hang around, lodge, abide, establish oneself, make one's home, remain, reside, settle, stay

As I prepare to move into the King of king's Castle, I'm having a new understanding of "dwelling". Living in an apartment, even though I considered it my home, it actually was not. The apartment complex had rules on what could or could not be done. I did not have full access or full authority over what could or could not happen in the apartment.
The Apartment Management had authority over the carpet color. They had authority over the time and details of the kitchen remodel. They had authority over the appliances. They had authority over all the aspects of the apartment. I was not a permanent resident I was a tenant that did not have full access or full authority.

Now owning a home, I'm understanding the sense of dwelling. For there is not only freedom inhabiting a home, there is also more responsibility. There are things I have to learn and do to continue to make sure my home is well taken care of now and in the future. I now have full access and full authority to what takes place in my home.

God's Word is to not be a "renter" where I control what and want not will apply, or "evict" the parts of God's Word I don't like. No, rather God's Word is to have a permanent residence. Full access and authority — given to the "home owner".

As the Word of God is given full access and authority, the effect will be a heart permeated with a deep sense of reverence for God (Acts 9:31; MSG).

Announcement Part 10—I'm moving!

Announcement Part 10—I'm moving!

Announcement Part 5— I'm moving! Announcement Part 6— I'm moving!

The Inspection report was reviewed. A few things needed to be addressed in the near future (exterior painting, etc) but overall the house was fine.

Stop. Pause. What? Does that mean that I'm a homeowner? I have responsibility? YES!!! Closing is scheduled for June 16!

Remember how I said that

God is a God of details?
Here's my list from Part 4:
  • 3 Bedrooms — a need. A bedroom for me, and one for my parents and the 3rd would be a study for my Dad.
  • Walk in shower — a need. As my parents age, it is safer for them. And in the years to come, it will be easier for me too, with my back and leg injury.
  • Location — a need. Within my driving distance to Church, Drs, and grocery stores.
  • No or very small step at the entrances — need
  • Pool — a need, no make that a want. The pool is great therapy for my back/leg. But there are other resources for a pool, such as the local YMCAs.

God provided a home with the following:

  • 2 Bedrooms and a study
  • A walk-in shower
  • Location—perfect! Very close to Church and still close enough to my doctors.
  • Very small step at the entrances.
  • And those wants: wood floors and a lanai, not to mention the fireplace!

BUT.......

God also provided something else.

This is a picture of what will be my home, after June 16th.

See that fence to the left of my home?

Behind that fence is the HOA ..........pool!

Yes, that is correct! God not only gave me a wonderful home beyond ANYTHING I could have ever imagined.... He in His graciousness gave me a pool too. And not just a pool, a pool LITERALLY right next door!

God didn't miss a single detail!
He is so awesome!

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

I will post pictures of the inside of MY HOME, after June 16th. (Links to the inside of the Castle, are now posted below.)
Please pray with me as I prepare to move and take care of the arrangements that go into owning a home.
Excited.
By the end of June,
this Princess will be living
in her very own Castle
given to her by the King of kings
located on Kings Crossing!

Announcement Part 9—I'm moving!

Announcement Part 5— I'm moving! Announcement Part 6— I'm moving!

After leaving the "new King" home, a bid price was decided. A call to the realtor with the offer. Then the waiting began.

There are multiple offers, want to raise your bid? Yes, this is my highest offer. And more waiting.
Then word came that a meeting was going to take place to review the bids. More waiting.

In my mind, I kept going over the details. Compared to the other houses I THOUGHT were perfect.... this one was BEYOND perfection!

But I knew that although I saw PERFECTION, God knows the details of the house, the details of my future, and He knows if this house is  "The One." I had to simply wait upon Him.

Then word came..... you are the high bidder... BUT.
My heart sank. Another "BUT"! However, I listened to the words AFTER the BUT. There was a request of the homeowner, would I allow it?
Yes, it would be allowed—with a condition. Would the homeowner accept the condition?

More waiting.
No, the homeowner would NOT accept the condition, rather she is dropping her request. Therefore, you are high bidder—Period!

My heart was about to burst! BUT... there was still the inspection. So more waiting and more talking with God about this house.

The Inspection day arrived. As the inspector was checking things out, he shared some knowledge with me about various things to look for and how to save money on future repairs, etc. Very helpful and great to learn new things. But what I REALLY wanted to know was there anything "wrong" that would prevent the sale of the home?

More waiting.... then the report arrived. And not just a "It's fine or No, it's not fine" report — there was 44 pages of report! That takes a while to read and decipher..... so more waiting.

Announcement Part 8—I'm moving!

Announcement Part 8—I'm moving!

Announcement Part 5— I'm moving! Announcement Part 6— I'm moving!

I arrived at this new "King" street home ahead of my scheduled appointment time, but the Realtor was there too, so we went into the house.

The first thing I saw was the beautiful wood floors. And not dark wood like the Kingfish house. This was light wood, which I like much better.
Then I saw it. A beautiful fireplace. Brick and wood all the way up to the vaulted ceiling. Beautiful.
I looked at the kitchen. A nice breakfast bar, which would provide a nice place for me to stand for my meals while enjoying the company of those in the dinning area.
Looked out the sliding doors off the kitchen and saw a large beautiful lanai facing a wooded area.
Walked down the hallway, bath-check. Bedroom-check.
Walked over to the Master bedroom. Nice and the bathroom had a walk-in shower-check.

Ok. Stop for a second.......
Bedrooms— 2
Walk-in Shower —yes
Small entrance step —yes
Close to church, Drs, grocery stores — yes
Wood floors (a wish) — yes (and light wood floors!)
Lanai (a wish) — yes
A fireplace (a wish; that I never dreamed possible in FL) — yes

Oh, but remember God is a God of details... NOTHING escapes Him.
There is also a study in this house! Yes, 2 bedrooms and a study!

As I'm standing in the middle of this home... my Dream is interrupted.... another realtor has arrived with more people to look at this home. (Remember, how I arrived early? God knew that I'd need more time to look around! His timing is always perfect.)

I left the home... thinking that this was THE PERFECT HOUSE... but I knew from the lessons learned on the other two "King" homes, that I had to wait upon God for what He would do.
Rhonda saw PERFECT—BUT what did God think?

Announcement Part 5— I'm moving! Announcement Part 6— I'm moving!

So, it was time to renew my apartment lease. What should I do? Following the wise counsel of a friend, I renewed for 90 days since there was no penalty or extra cost. Then at the end of those 90 days, I could see what God wanted me to do.

On May 6th, I renewed my apartment lease for 90 days. I realized that house hunting would wait for the time being. God had closed—SLAMMED—the doors to each house that I thought was "perfect".

But I knew that God had a plan. He has never failed me. He loves me. And since He is the King of kings and I am His child, that makes me His Princess!

Several years ago, when I was looking to buy a new car, God led me to this verse: "The desires of good people lead straight to the best." Proverbs 11:23a (MSG). As I talked the house buying over with God, I knew that in His time, in His way, He would lead me straight to, not just THE best, but HIS BEST.

On May 8th, I received a notice about a house that fit my parameters. I looked at the listing, and liked what I saw. However, the timing just didn't seem right. But receiving the listing was a GREAT reminder that God has unlimited resources and He will supply the BEST house at the BEST time.

Even though I thought I was done looking at houses, God knew that I needed to see THIS house. So, God arranged it and on May 9th, I went to take a look. This house was located on another "King" street.
That caught my attention. What better address for a Princess of the King of kings to live—than on a "King" street. What awesome reminder each time I drive down the road—that God supplied HIS BEST.

But, I was getting ahead of myself. First, I had to take a look at the house and then see what God does.
