Psalm - Psalm 13

Psalm 13:5But I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
But I have trusted, leaned on, and been confident in Your mercy and loving-kindness; my heart shall rejoice and be in high spirits in Your salvation. Psalm 13:5
But I trust in Your faithful love; my heart leaps at the thought of imminent deliverance by You. Psalm 13:5 (VOICE)
My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation; which God is the contriver, author, and giver of, and in which the glory of his perfections is so greatly displayed: and a true believer rejoices more on account that God is glorified by it than because of his own interest in it; and this joy is an inward one, it is joy in the heart, and is real and unfeigned, and is what continues, and will be felt and expressed both here and hereafter. Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible
What makes my heart leap? What raises my spirits? The truth is that nothing on earth can make my heart leap—for pure joy. Oh, there are things that make me smile, and happy, but true joy comes only from God. True joy provides a constant that allows my heart to leap no matter the situation or circumstance.

When I realize that God’s faithful love is ever-present and available to me, no matter the circumstance, or situation! God’s love is the constant that should make my heart leap!

Think of that for a moment. God, the Creator of all, the Amazing Almighty God loves us. Can you grasp that fact? God loves me! God loves you!

Stop and reflect on God’s amazing constant, unconditional love and then your heart will leap and your spirits will soar!

Psalm - Psalm 12

Psalm 12:6The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

Pure: pure in a physical, chemical, ceremonial or moral sense

Pure Words.  Truthful.
When you begin with pure words and refine them - 7 times - the words remain pure! There is no blemish or fault. The words of the Lord are true. He speaks only truth. He always keeps His promises.

Pure Words. Truthful.

In the midst of our World today, pure words are hard to find. Words are tainted by feelings of hurt, anger, rage, political viewpoints, and even evil.

Pure Words. The words of the Lord are what we need, even more now than ever. It's time to share the true and pure words of God.

Psalm - Psalm 11

Psalm 11:7For the Lord is righteous, He loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright.
The Lord ·does what is right [is righteous], and he loves ·justice [righteousness], so ·honest people [the upright/virtuous] will see his face. Psalm 11:7 (EXB)
The Eternal is right in all His ways; He cherishes all that is upright. Those who do what is right in His eyes will see His face. Psalm 11:7 (VOICE)
For righteous [is] Jehovah, Righteousness He hath loved, The upright doth His countenance see!' Psalm 11:7 (YLT)
For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness - This would be more correctly rendered, "For Jehovah is righteous; he loves righteousness." The idea is, that God is himself righteous, and, consequently, he loves those who are righteous. He may be confided in, therefore, by the righteous as their friend, and being under his protection they have nothing to fear. Barnes' Notes on the Bible

If you look at my social media accounts, you can see some of my interests. I have followers and follow racing fans; Military and First Responders and Organizations and companies helping our Heroes; and Christian organizations, bloggers, among others. Those are people/organizations that are “like-minded”.

As I read Psalm 11:7 this morning, I had to stop and consider the concept that God is Himself righteous and He loves those who are righteous. Now, on my own, I cannot nor could I ever reach God’s righteousness. But because of His grace and mercy, I am made righteous.
Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith. I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death. Philippians 3:8-10 (NLT)
I can’t reach righteousness on my own, but I can choose righteousness. If I love God, I want to be like-minded and love what He loves, I need to make sure that each and every day, I’m making the choice to obey God. If God had a social media account, would He want to “follow” me? Because He is righteous, He loves those who are righteous.

Psalm - Psalm 10

Psalm 10:16aThe Lord is King forever and ever.
As I read Psalm 10, I couldn't help but think of the state of our nation today, in fact the world. I too with the Psalmist wonder why God is just "sitting back" letting evil rule the world. But then I remember that God in His mercy and love wants to give mankind an opportunity at repentance.

Each time God brought judgement upon the World, He provided a way of salvation. He was going to destroy the World at one point due to the wickedness of mankind, but one man, Noah found grace in the eyes of God. God provided time and opportunity for salvation of any who would choose.
There are also other examples in the Bible of God's mercy and grace.

The Lord is King forever and ever.

That is a fact. And if the Lord is no King of your life, then you have the opportunity to choose Him - today.
If He is your King, are you bringing honor and glory to Him by the way you are living?

Psalm - Psalm 9

Psalm 9:9, 10

The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
Refuge: a cliff or other lofty or inaccessible place, a secure height, retreat, stronghold
Oppressed: injured, afflicted, distressed, crushed
In times: now, when, long season, so long as
Trouble: adversary, adversity, affliction, anguish, distress, tribulation
Know: acknowledge, acquaintance, be aware
Your name: as a mark or memorial of individuality; by implication honor, authority, character
Put their trust: be bold confident, secure, sure, put confidence, make to hope
Forsaken: forsake, fail, leave, leave destitute, refuse
Seek: usually to follow for pursuit, specifically to worship
The Lord ·defends [ is a refuge for] those who ·suffer [are oppressed/exploited]; ·he defends them [a refuge] in times of ·trouble [distress].
Those who know ·the Lord [ your name] trust ·him [ you], because ·he [you] will not ·leave [abandon; forsake] those who ·come to him [ seek you]. Psalm 9:9, 10 EXB
Psalm 9 -
A secure retreat that provides hope
and reasons to worship of God Almighty!

Psalm - Psalm 8

Psalm 8:9O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth!
Excellent:  majestic, powerful, famous, gallant, glorious, goodly, mighty, noble, principal, worthy
Your name:  by implication honor, authority, character
All: the whole; hence, all, any or every
Earth: nations, world

When I stop and think for just a moment about the majestic, worthy, wondrous the Name of God is — I can’t even grasp the full concept. But what I can grasp makes me praise God and gives me confidence that God is in control.

Just when I think I grasp how excellent, majestic and awe-inspiring God is — He is more than that.

O Lord, our Lord, how excellent, majestic, worthy is Your name in all the earth!

Psalm - Psalm 7

Psalm 7:1a, 17O Lord my God, in You I put my trust;
I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.

Trust: to flee for protection, to confide in -- have hope, make refuge
Praise: to revere or worship with extended hands
According to His righteousness:  God's attribute as sovereign
Sing praise: celebrate in song and music
Most High: as title, the Supreme

As you read Psalm 7, the first words are "O Lord my God, in You I put my trust". Then you read about all the wickedness that was happening to and around the Psalmist. But because the Psalmist put his trust in God, the Psalmist could end the Psalm with Praise to God!

Psalm 7 -
Trust in God will result in Praise to God!
